Project 3 - Ngee Ann Polytechnic - Centre of Innovation (COI)
Ngee Ann Polytechnic is among Singapore’s foremost institutions of higher learning. It has eight academic schools and offers a total of 47 full-time diploma courses as well as a range of part-time diploma courses.
System Donated by Tigernix: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Centres of Innovation have been set up in various polytechnics by the Singapore Government as part of an initiative to make practical technological support available to local enterprises.
Tigernix values and encourages efforts towards the education and spread of technologies within institutions in Singapore. To support this cause, Tigernix donated an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to the Centre of Innovation to help them in their management processes. Tigernix’s ERP solution allows institutions to integrate and automate their entire business process.
TigernixERP is a flexible, secure, and comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution from Tigernix. It is completely web-based, making it an easy platform to combine all business processes. TigernixERP has comprehensive reporting and management options that provide data on order forms, invoices, balance of payments, and ledgers.
Apart from COI, Tigernix has successfully implemented an ERP solution at the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech).
About the Centre of Innovation at Ngee Ann Polytechnic
As part of a national drive towards technology and innovation, the Singapore Government has taken steps in the area of R&D investment in order to foster greater technology innovation among local enterprises. Towards this goal, Centres of Innovation have been set up in polytechnics with the aim of providing applied R&D and technology support to institutions and enterprises.
Ngee Ann Polytechnic has over 30 years of experience in the provision of consultancy services, applied R&D support and capability training to various industries, mainly in the areas of environmental & water as well as marine & offshore. The polytechnic is partnering with SPRING Singapore in the quest to meet the applied technology needs of local enterprises in these industries. The Environmental & Water Technology and Marine & Offshore Technology Centres of Innovation were set up in November 2006.
Ngee Ann Polytechnic offers students a learning experience which emphasises on balanced and broad-based education. The Polytechnic maintains close industry links and dedicates expertise and resources to help the development of local enterprises. In doing this, the polytechnic ensures that its courses and students are on the same wavelength with current market developments.
The Polytechnic has received numerous awards, including the Public Service Award for Organisational Excellence (2001 & 2004), People Developer Award (since 2000), Singapore Quality Class (since 1999), and the ISO 9001:2000 certification (since 2001).
Ngee Ann Polytechnic received the certification for the People Developer Award in 2000. Through this award Ngee Ann Polytechnic received national recognition as a dynamic, forward-looking and modern organisation, with a caring and nurturing staff. In June 2006 Ngee Ann was recertified for the People Developer Award.
