Tigernix’s CEO, Mr Gowrishankar, was honoured to introduce Tigernix’s Smart and Integrated water suite to the President of Águas de Portugal, Professor António and Eng Alexandra in a discussion hosted by SWA (Singapore Water Association) on the 14th of March, 2025 at SgWX, Singapore.
Águas de Portugal (AdP) is a state-owned company established in 1993, responsible for designing, constructing, and managing water supply and wastewater systems across Portugal, serving about 80% of the population. With significant infrastructure assets and over 3,000 employees, AdP operates through 12 companies and has expanded its reach internationally, undertaking projects in countries like Angola, Brazil, and Mozambique.
This session helped to address the challenges in the water community of Portugal and the opportunities and strengths that Singapore water experts have to offer in ameliorating these challenges under the theme ‘Digital transformation of operations’. Mr Gowrishankar was invited to this session to share his invaluable insight, coupled with a 15-minute presentation on how Tigernix has already transformed water challenges into digital solutions. The main topics of interest include:
- Adoption of circular economy principles to maximise resource recovery.
- Implementation of energy-efficient operations and decarbonisation technologies in water management.
- Improvement of water efficiency and reduction of Non-Revenue Water (NRW) through best practices and technologies.
- Strategies to enhance water resilience and mitigate droughts and floods through innovative technologies and practices.
- Utilisation of digital technologies to enhance efficiency, monitoring, and management in the water supply chain.
The visit objectives were to share insights into operating models and highlight new challenges and developments in circularity, decarbonisation, and digitalisation. Additionally, there was an interest in exploring how Singapore’s expertise could benefit AdP, particularly in innovation and training, with potential collaborations with Singaporean companies for innovative solutions.
